Anna Pavlikovskaya : Walking boldly from the quarantine to the summer. We haven’t actually understood what it was… 71 days of isolation, worrying news, sad statistics, cold rainy weather… Nothing prompted any positive changes in the near future… And suddenly we hear – the situation has stabilized, there are no more restrictions and everyone is free!

Anna Pavlikovskaya

MOSCOW : Walking boldly from the quarantine to the summer.

We haven’t actually understood what it was… 71 days of isolation, worrying news, sad statistics, cold rainy weather… Nothing prompted any positive changes in the near future… And suddenly we hear – the situation has stabilized, there are no more restrictions and everyone is free!

Go where you want!

To parks, shops, sport grounds, beauty centers.

Make use of the city, it’s yours again!

It was so unexpected, it sounded like a clap of thunder, flashed like a summer lightning so suddenly that at first we didn’t even believe it. Is it a practical joke? Are you serious??

Yes, of course! Here is a list of places that are back to work, read it and go ahead!

In a day outdoor social advertising changed completely. Numerous billboards with serious calls “Your  home is the safest place”, “Isolation saves lives”, “Don’t touch your face” and the like have been replaced by the ones about the coming referendum on the Constitution amendments and the celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Great Patriotic War victory.

The memory of fighting the coronavirus has started to fade in the public mind… And we used to think we would remember this time for quite a while…

Together with freedom, after two weeks of unstoppable rain, heat has come to Moscow.

And the locals, shedding jackets and putting on swimsuits, are hurrying to lakes and rivers.

To the cycling track, to the park, to the forest, to the shopping center – no matter where, as long as it’s far away from the cozy home!

Of course, not everyone is doing it. As usual, there are two different types of people. The former are those who didn’t believe in the virus so much in the first place, so they have flooded the streets at once, throwing away their masks and uncomfortable sticky rubber gloves into the bargain. To walk, to breathe, to communicate – whatever!

The latter have taken the quarantine cancellation with distrust, they keep studying the statistics and are reluctant to leave their homes, doing it only in the case of utter need, masks, gloves, social distancing and all…

However, both types of people are still quite inspired by the changes. There’s a lot more good news now, which is good news in its own right! And the weather is much better, and the summer is still ahead!

In this report I’d like to dwell on the atmosphere of the recovering city, on the rain, the green grass, the fresh air and the summer. And on our first steps in this new good old life. Anna Pavlikovskaya

Anna Pavlikovskaya
