LUX the band est née de la rencontre inattendue d’Angela Randall, chanteuse/auteure new-yorkaise et de Sylvain Laforge, talentueux guitariste blues/rock français.

La musique puise bien souvent ses racines dans les rencontres, et LUX c’est l’histoire d’une rencontre, celle d’Angela Randall et de Sylvain Laforge. Ils se sont rencontrés, apprivoisés et adoptés pour sublimer leur passion : la musique. Leur musique, ils la produisent ensemble, Angela l’habillant de sa voix grave, unique et sensuelle, et Sylvain l’accompagnant d’une manière aussi divine que talentueuse à la guitare. De leur union est née un folk alternatif électrifié qui s écoute avec délectation. Lux c’est une histoire d’amour musicale, une alchimie entre une américaine, très New Yorkaise, qui joue et se joue de la belle écriture de ses textes et du velours de sa voix, et un musicien, aussi doué que brillant, dont la carrière a durant longtemps épousée celle des Rita Mitsouko; ça donne un duo accoustique qui, lorsqu’il est sur scène avec Franck Ballier, à la batterie et Julien Boisseau à la basse se sublime encore plus en vous emmenant au bout de la nuit.

Leur premier EP de 5 titres enregistré avec Peter Deimel au Studio Black Box nous livre un son plus rock, bien en bouche et en oreille, esthétique, en un mot réussi. Lux, ça fait du bien à entendre et à regarder, de nombreux projets sont en préparation ainsi qu’une tournée de concerts pour cette nouvelle année. Music often reveals roots that are drawn from encounters and LUX is the story of a chance encounter between Angela Randall and Sylvain Laforge. They met and were won over and together took on enhancing their shared passion – music.

They make their music together, Angela carrying it with a voice that is unique; deep and sensual, accompanied by Sylvain whose guitar playing is as divine as it is talented. From this union hails a sort of alternative electric folk, which is delightful to hear. LUX is a musical love story, the chemistry between an American, very much a New Yorker, who plays and plays upon the beauty of her lyrics and the velvet in her voice and a musician – as talented as he is brilliant – whose career was for a long time connected to that of the Rita Mitsouko. All this led first to an acoustic duo that, on stage with Franck Ballier on drums and Julien Boisseau on bass guitar, is heightened even more, carrying you through to the end of the night.

Their debut EP, 5 songs recorded with Peter Deimel at Studio Black Box, delivers a sound that is more rock, smooth to taste and to hear, beautiful; in a word, successful. Listening to LUX, watching LUX does one good and there are projects in the works and concerts to come in this New Year. LUX…a very agreeable encounter that artsixMic suggests savouring together.
